The park was once part of a 7,000-acre tract that belonged to William Penn. A variety of farm buildings from the colonial era have been preserved here. The park even hosts musical concerts in the summer.
West Norriton is home to the Jeffersonville Golf Club, a historic layout designed by famed architect Donald Ross in 1931. Historically out was subsequently restored in 2001 and today it plays at 6,443 yards from the back tees. Creeks crisscross this well bunkered and beautiful layout.
Attractions and Events
Shopping opportunities are excellent for East and West Norriton residents. Plymouth Meeting Mall is only four-miles away. Also nearby is King Of Prussia Mall, the largest regional mall along the entire East Coast. Over 400 stores occupy this expansive complex. Eight major department stores are located here as well, including Neiman Marcus and Nordstroms.
Nearby Norristown is the home of the Centre Theatre. The theatre hosts workshops for up-and-coming actors and actresses. It also puts on two children's theatrical productions each year. The annual theatre festival is a highlight of the year.
The West Norriton Parks and Recreation Department stages a number of events every year including the annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Western Norriton Community Day, the Halloween Party and Parade and more.
